Hereford & Glos.

An important droving route went through Hereford - Ledbury - Tewkesbury - Moreton-in-Marsh - Rollright - Banbury - Buckingham etc., to Essex, Kent & London.  But I have not done enough work on it yet.

Meanwhile the delightful Perrotts Brook stretch in the tab on the left is perfect for a springtime bike ride.  Let me know if you meet any traffic; I didn't.

From Fairford the road continues to London via Abingdon & High Wycombe, but ceases to be cyclist-friendly.

(Perrotts Brook was a Roman settlement, I've been told.  Any evidence of that, anyone?)

PICTURES: The Sumner Arms - or Sommers Arms, as it used to be called (see #3) - is now a large retail outlet just east of Ledbury.  I screeched to a halt when I saw it: all the elements of a droving inn were there, and it's on a T-junction too.  The girl behind the counter said I was quite right and offered me a coffee.
